UL Certification
UL is the abbreviation of Underwriter Laboratories Inc.UL safety test is the most authoritative one in America,also is the world`s large civil organization engaged in security test and evaluation.It is a professional organization,which is independent,non-profit,and doing test for public safety.It adopts scientific methods to study and determine whether various materials,devices,products,
equipments and constructions are harmful to life,and the extent of damage.UL is responsible for deciding,writing,and issuing corresponding standards,and the database which is helpful to reduce and prevent the loss of life and property,as well as carrying out the truth research business.In all,it is mainly engaged in product safety testing and operating safety business,its ultimate goal is to get fairly safe standards of goods for customers,and make a contribution to human health and property.As an effective means to eliminate international trade technical barriers through product safety certificate,UL plays a positive role in order to promote the development of international trade.
Founded in 1894,UL relied on the fund from fire insurance department to keep operating in its initial stage.It was not completely independent until 1916.During the past hundred years of development, UL has become world`s famous certified organization,itself has a set of strict management system,standards development and product certification process.UL is governed by a council,which is the representative of security expert,government officials,consumers,educational circle,public utilities,insurance industry and standards department,president and vice president deal with the routine works.At present, UL has five laboratory in the United States,its headquarter is based in Northbrook,north of Chicago,and respectively set up laboratory in Taiwan and Hong Kong at the same time.
UL mark is the best known and most recognised by market,it indicates that the products meet safety standards of United States.For U.S. manufacturers and consumers, the UL mark is the most reliable safety mark.
 
UL recognized component mark

Ordinary consumers rarely see this mark,because it is special used on components,while the components are a part of larger product or system.The performance of these components would be limited,or itself can't form a complete product directly.The application of component mark is too numerous to be counted,such as switch,power supply,PCB,industrial control equipment,and thousands of other products.
As same as UL listed mark and UL classified mark,UL recognized component mark is divided into three types:only for United States,only for Canada,and for both United States and Canada.C-UL is only available for components in Canada market,all of the components with this mark are evaluated according to Canadian standards.C-UL-US mark is alternative,it indicates that the components meet both American standards and Canadian standards.UL encouraged manufactures,whose UL was evaluated by these two countries at the same time,to adopt this new composite mark,but manufactures can choose to continue using UL mark against United States or Canada alone.
The products covered by UL recognised components projects will be installed on other device system and terminal products.These components only can be installed in the factory,rather than installed on scene.However,these components may be limited to use.When evaluating the complete products or systems which installing UL recognised components,the terminal product evaluation process can be simplified.
 
UL Listed Mark

UL listed mark is the most commonly used UL mark.If a product is labeled with this mark,it means that the representative sample of the product meets UL safety requirements.These requirements are mainly based on UL itself`s safety standards.This type of mark is common in the following product categories:electrical equipment,computer equipment,stove and heater,fuse,
power panel ,smoke and carbon monoxide detectors,fire extinguisher,automatic fire sprinkler system,personal flotation devices,bullet-proof glass,and thousands of other products.
UL listed mark is divided into three types:only for United States,only for Canada,and for both United States and Canada.C-UL is only available for components in Canada market,all of the components with this mark are evaluated according to Canadian standards.C-UL-US mark is alternative,it indicates that the components meet both American standards and Canadian standards.UL encouraged manufactures,whose UL was evaluated by these two countries at the same time,to adopt this new composite mark,but manufactures can choose to continue using UL mark against United States or Canada alone.
UL listed mark is common in terminal products and complete components which are suitable for being installed in the factory or on scene.All products labeled with UL listed mark are listed in UL follow-up inspection service scope,in order to verify that the products continue complying with UL safety requirements in the production process.UL listed mark generally consists of four essential elements:
● UL in the Rspo;
● Letters LISTED;
● Product Name or Company Name or File NO.;
●  Version or Serial Number or Alphanumeric control number.
 
UL Classified Mark

This mark appears in the products that have passed UL assessment,but this assessment only performed on the specific properties,limited danger or certain conditions of representative samples.UL classified product is usually divided into two types: building materials and industrial equipment.UL classified equipment products include diving dress,fire-proof door,fire man protection equipment,and industrial truck.

In the classified service,UL confirmed that manufacturer has proven its ability to produce products which meet UL requirements,which involves the following one or more aspects:

●Conform to the regulation.
●Meet certain standards, such as the international standard.
●Other conditions determined by UL
